FISH

Istanbul, through whose waters pass so many of the world's finest fish, is truly a city for those who love seafood. For most of the year, the Çanakkale and istanbul straits, which link the Black Sea to the Aegean, are full of migrating fish, the majority of which are foreign to these straits.

The wide variety of fish that abound in these waters, from bluefish to anchovy, turbot, red mullet and sea bass, have further enriched Turkish cuisine.

The fish restaurants along the Bosphorus, in particular, offer diners the finest seafood in the world. The areas of Kumkapi, Sahil Yolu (Shore Road), and, recently, Haliç (Golden Horn) are also good options to visit for a good restaurant specializing in fish and seafood dishes.
